Our Fleet of vehicles
At Flash Gordon Removals we have a truck for every house and business move! We currently have 5 trucks on our fleet.
The two bigs ones are 18 tonne lorries, both are Iveco Stralis. The Stralis is built to be a strong engine, specialised in towing a heavy load. They have full air conditioning and air suspension. They have a very clever automatic gearing system which allows the truck to manage inclines when loaded up.
You can fit an average 4 bedroom house on a Stralis when packed professionally. It's 11.5 metres long and holds over £1,000 worth of diesel in the fuel tank! A new tyre on a Stralis costs over £500. To drive one of these, you need a class C HGV license. Imagine reversing onto someone’s front drive or onto a ferry in one of these.
We expect to get 20 years out of a removal truck body. At the end of every day our trucks get a cuddle, we sweep them, brush the back, fold their blankets and give them a drink of AdBlue and washer fluid.
All of our trucks follow a tight maintenance schedule at Pitters in Southampton. They have been looking after our trucks for 40 years! Having trusted maintenance means we are confident we are safe, and that we can ensure our staff are safe and our customers goods arrive in top condition. We are insured to £50,000 for contents on each vehicle and always take care to look after our treasured loads. Insurance values, can be increased should the need be required.

You can fit an average 4 bedroom house on a Stralis when packed professionally. Each lorry has 1.5 tonne tail lift which we use for heavy items such as pianos, pizza ovens, statues and garden pots. We have even lifted helicopter engines!
The side loading door of this vehicle makes it ideal for unloading containers and motorbikes. Our trucks are fitted with extra light bars, spot lamps and a hard wood floor designed for loading furniture.
Then we have two 7 tonne lorries, one of which we had bespoke built from new. One has an overnight pod for international or long haul dedicated freight. It has air conditioning, air suspension, stainless steel fixtures, air horns and extra lights all to match its bigger brother.
The tail lift on the 7 tonne lorries is a large platform cantilever tail lift ideal for lifting extra large heavy items such as lathes, motorbikes etc.
Last but not least we have their little brother... a 3.5 tonne lorry, we use these smaller vans for loading and delivering boxes and packaging to our customers, getting into smaller or tight spots where the big vans wont fit and ULEZ work.
We often use these vehicles to tranship goods from a big lorry where it wouldn’t fit, thus completing country estate moves, and moving statuary and agricultural machinery.

If one truck is out for MOT, don’t worry! We have another! If one truck is damaged or in use, don’t worry we have another! Our aim as we go forward is to grow the operation further, offering daily dedicated freight at affordable prices, and increase our growing of house clearance and recycling business. None of this would be possible without our dear fleet of vehicles.
